The Cow in the Dark at Night by Jess Hannigan is a picture book about a cow who has always wondered what goes on once the sun goes down. One night, she finds out. Loose in the dark, she goes looking for adventure, nocturnal friends, and every other thing waiting out there in the new world of the night. The night people, as it happens, may have plans of their own. Good thing the moon is bright.
Jess wrote and illustrated it in the bold, flat, saturated style her readers know, and the story leans all the way into its own silliness. Readers who like scaredy cats, Jon Klassen, neon green, and things that go bump in the night will find a lot to love here, which is about as specific as a comp list gets. Jess lives in Hamilton, and this follows her earlier picture books Spider in the Well and The Bear Out There.
This is a preorder, releasing July 21. A limited number of signed copies will be available, allocated to preorders while supplies last.

Some items have non-standard dimensions and may incur additional shipping charges. If needed, we will contact you after your purchase to inform you.
RETURNS
Online orders can be returned within 14 days of initial receipt. If more than 14 days have gone by since the initial receipt of your purchase, unfortunately we can’t accept your return or exchange.
Please contact us at hello@parkette.ca with your request before returning an item. We will provide you with a return authorization number. A return authorization number must be included in your return. All returned purchases will either be issued a store credit or exchange minus the initial shipping charge. We are a small family-owned business and unfortunately cannot offer any refunds at this time.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in its original packaging. Items must be unworn, and tags still attached. All footwear must have no creasing or damage to the soles to be returned. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food or magazines cannot be returned.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that plans can change, and we’re here to help as best we can. Please note that due to recent changes in our payment processor’s policies, canceled orders will incur a 3% cancellation fee. This fee helps cover the non-refundable processing costs associated with your original payment. Once an order has shipped, we’re unable to cancel it.
