In Strange Creatures, the animals of the forest return from a party to find that their homes have vanished. Shocked and unsettled, they try to carry on as best they can, but it soon becomes clear that something is very wrong. Setting out together, they discover that their homes have been cut into pieces by unfamiliar beings they call the strange creatures.
When the animals try to explain what has been lost, the creatures don’t seem to listen. But the creatures’ small guardians do, and with their help, the animals begin to imagine a bold and unexpected way to be heard. As improbable as their plan may be, it just might change everything.
Told from the animals’ point of view, this contemporary fable pairs spare text with busy, colourful illustrations to explore the impact of human actions on the natural world. The tone remains playful and slightly irreverent, even as the story raises thoughtful questions about habitat, responsibility, and coexistence. Both engaging and quietly pointed, Strange Creatures invites conversation about conservation and the ways we share space with others.

Some items have non-standard dimensions and may incur additional shipping charges. If needed, we will contact you after your purchase to inform you.
RETURNS
Online orders can be returned within 14 days of initial receipt. If more than 14 days have gone by since the initial receipt of your purchase, unfortunately we can’t accept your return or exchange.
Please contact us at hello@parkette.ca with your request before returning an item. We will provide you with a return authorization number. A return authorization number must be included in your return. All returned purchases will either be issued a store credit or exchange minus the initial shipping charge. We are a small family-owned business and unfortunately cannot offer any refunds at this time.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in its original packaging. Items must be unworn, and tags still attached. All footwear must have no creasing or damage to the soles to be returned. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food or magazines cannot be returned.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that plans can change, and we’re here to help as best we can. Please note that due to recent changes in our payment processor’s policies, canceled orders will incur a 3% cancellation fee. This fee helps cover the non-refundable processing costs associated with your original payment. Once an order has shipped, we’re unable to cancel it.
