Berk is a toy duck, and the child who owns him tells this story exactly the way Berk told it to him. In Julien Béziat's La Nuit de Berk, Berk gets left behind at school in the box of cuddle toys, along with a crocodile backpack named Croco. It's pitch dark, and Berk has no intention of just sitting there.
The two of them borrow the teacher's lamp and set off through the dark classrooms. Trying to switch on a light sets off a chain of disasters: things tumble down, Croco lands in something squishy, and Berk ends up in the wastebasket. Then a strange noise starts following them everywhere. Sprouitch, sprouitch.
Readers who know their classic picture book monsters will spot a few familiar faces hiding in the dark.

RETURNS
Online orders can be returned within 14 days of initial receipt. If more than 14 days have gone by since the initial receipt of your purchase, unfortunately we can’t accept your return or exchange.
Please contact us at hello@parkette.ca with your request before returning an item. We will provide you with a return authorization number. A return authorization number must be included in your return. All returned purchases will either be issued a store credit or exchange minus the initial shipping charge. We are a small family-owned business and unfortunately cannot offer any refunds at this time.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in its original packaging. Items must be unworn, and tags still attached. All footwear must have no creasing or damage to the soles to be returned. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food or magazines cannot be returned.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that plans can change, and we’re here to help as best we can. Please note that due to recent changes in our payment processor’s policies, canceled orders will incur a 3% cancellation fee. This fee helps cover the non-refundable processing costs associated with your original payment. Once an order has shipped, we’re unable to cancel it.
