Discover the spellbinding world of The Planets in this musical retelling of Holst’s iconic suite. Each spread pairs a beautifully illustrated scene with a button that plays a vivid orchestral excerpt, drawing little listeners into a journey across the solar system.
The story follows siblings Helen and Tim, who climb into their new rocket-ship bunk beds at bedtime… only to blast off into the glittering night sky before they can even think about sleep. Together they soar past the rocky terrain of Mars, weave through a bumpy asteroid belt, and drift deeper into space as dazzling stars and distant planets come into view. When it’s finally time to head home, they watch the sun rise over Earth as their rocket whooshes back toward bed.
With ten musical clips woven into the pages, kids can press and listen as they explore—a gentle, playful way to introduce classical music and spark curiosity about space. At the back of the book, there’s a short biography of Gustav Holst, a replay panel for all the musical excerpts, and simple explanations of the instruments and ideas behind the score.
The Story Orchestra series brings classical music to life through gorgeously illustrated tales paired with real orchestral recordings. RETURNS
Online orders can be returned within 14 days of initial receipt. If more than 14 days have gone by since the initial receipt of your purchase, unfortunately we can’t accept your return or exchange.
Please contact us at hello@parkette.ca with your request before returning an item. We will provide you with a return authorization number. A return authorization number must be included in your return. All returned purchases will either be issued a store credit or exchange minus the initial shipping charge. We are a small family-owned business and unfortunately cannot offer any refunds at this time.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in its original packaging. Items must be unworn, and tags still attached. All footwear must have no creasing or damage to the soles to be returned. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food or magazines cannot be returned.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that plans can change, and we’re here to help as best we can. Please note that due to recent changes in our payment processor’s policies, canceled orders will incur a 3% cancellation fee. This fee helps cover the non-refundable processing costs associated with your original payment. Once an order has shipped, we’re unable to cancel it.
